Short answer: most professional TV wall mounting jobs in Sydney cost between about $150 and $350. A simple job on a plasterboard wall with a bracket you already have sits at the low end. Hiding cables inside the wall, supplying the bracket, mounting on brick or concrete, or a TV over 75 inches pushes it higher. Custom work like an entertainment wall is quoted separately.
STV’s packages start from $189 plus GST. Below is what changes the price, so you can compare quotes properly.
What a standard TV mounting job includes
At STV, every mounting package includes:
- fixing the bracket to the wall and hanging the TV level and secure
- connecting your existing devices (Foxtel, streaming box, game console, DVD)
- tuning the TV
- showing you how the TV and bracket work
When you compare quotes, check that the other installer includes the same things. Some cheaper prices only cover hanging the TV, with tuning, device setup or the bracket charged as extras.

What changes the price
1. The wall
Plasterboard (gyprock) with timber or steel studs behind it is the most common wall in Sydney homes and the quickest to work with. Brick and concrete need masonry drilling and the right anchors, and hiding cables in them takes more work. Read mounting a TV on plasterboard, brick or concrete for the details.
2. Hiding the cables
Cables can usually run inside a plasterboard wall if the cavity is clear, finished with cover plates. On brick or concrete, the usual options are a slim wall conduit painted to match the wall, or chasing a channel into the wall (more work and dust). The longer the run, the higher the price. If you need a new power point behind the TV, that’s electrical work and must be done by a licensed electrician; STV arranges this with a licensed electrician it works with.
3. The bracket
A fixed or slim bracket costs least. Tilt brackets help when the TV sits higher than eye level. Full-motion (swivel) brackets cost more and need a solid fixing, because the arm puts more load on the wall. Some TVs need their own brackets, like Samsung The Frame or LG gallery series, and those jobs are quoted separately.
4. The TV size
Up to about 65 inches, one experienced installer can usually handle the job. Very large TVs are heavier, need stronger brackets and often two people. At STV, 66″ to 75″ TVs are $599 + GST with the Platinum package, 76″ to 85″ TVs are quoted, and 86″ to 100″ TVs are $450 + GST on your own flat bracket or $599 + GST with one supplied.
5. Extras
Removing an old bracket and patching holes, mounting a soundbar under the TV, supplying HDMI cables, or setting up a streaming device all add a little to the job. Ask for these to be listed in the quote so there are no surprises on the day.
Why prices online vary so much
You’ll see TV mounting advertised from about $50 on job marketplaces. Those prices often cover only hanging the TV on a bracket you supply, with no cable work, tuning or insurance. When you compare, ask:
- Is the bracket included, and which type?
- Are cables hidden, and is that in the wall or in a conduit?
- Is the price including GST?
- Is the installer insured if something goes wrong?
- What happens if the wall turns out to be brick or concrete?

FAQ
How much does it cost to mount a TV on the wall in Sydney?
Most jobs cost between about $150 and $350. STV’s packages start from $189 plus GST, with cable hiding, brackets and masonry walls adding to the price.
Is the bracket included?
In the Standard and Platinum packages, yes. With the Basic package you supply your own bracket.
Does it cost more to mount a TV on brick or concrete?
Usually a little more, because it needs masonry drilling and anchors, and cables have to go in a conduit or a chased channel instead of inside the wall cavity.
Can you hide the cables?
Yes. In plasterboard walls the cables usually run inside the wall with cover plates. On brick or concrete we use a slim conduit. The Platinum package includes up to 3 m of cable hiding.
Do you mount TVs over 75 inches?
Yes. 76″ to 85″ TVs are quoted. 86″ to 100″ TVs are $450 + GST on your own standard flat bracket, or $599 + GST with a flat bracket supplied.
